Lakewood High School is dedicated to educating students to become respectful, responsible, and literate citizens with the skills to contribute to a global community.

New National Honor Society members, please remember to pay your dues to Mrs. Gogert by November 23rd.

Seniors, the deadline for your senior option approval is this Friday November 20th. You need to turn in your letter of intent, your parent consent form and your mentor agreement. Great job to the 86 seniors who have already turned this in.

Student helpers are needed in the kitchen 1st & 2nd lunch.  Students will receive hot lunch or deli sandwich for your help (your choice).  Contact Ms. Cannon or Ms. Anderson in the kitchen if you are interested.

Please sign up for the blood drive Nov. 23 before or after school in room 109. More parental permission forms will be available today. THAT’S BEFORE OR AFTER SCHOOL – NOT DURING CLASSES.  On the day of the blood drive make sure to eat a good breakfast and lunch. Drink plenty of fluids. Bring an ID with birth date and bring your parental permission form if you are16 or 17 (and didn’t already bring it back).

The 1st Thursday of each month we will be donating all lost & found items to Kid’s Closet.  If you have lost something, please check with our custodian, Darryl Campbell in the custodial room at the end of the commons.
Whitworth University will be here the 24th.  Please sign up in the Career Center if you would like to attend.
Attention all Cross Country athletes!  Your sports lockers have been cleared.  If you had things in your locker, they are available in Coach Sowards room through Friday.  After that they will be available from Mr. Campbell.  If you borrowed a shoe dryer after the District Championships, please return it to Coach Sowards by Friday.

Are you an athlete who is not playing basketball or turning out for wrestling?  Why not stay in shape this winter by joining with others and lift weights or run?  You know that athletes from Sehome, Burlington, Squalicum and Archbishop Murphy are staying in shape!!!  Find a partner and lift those weights and log those miles!!!  Champions are built when no one is looking!  GOOOO COUGS!!!!

It is not too late to join the wrestling team.  If you have any questions stop by the counseling office.

The 2009 Hi-Q team has been selected.  Representing Lakewood this year will be returners Jennifer Mack and Chelsea Sowards.  They will be joined by Skyler Tetreau, David Russell, Samantha Adams, and Victor Czarnetzke.  Congratulations to all who tried out!  All team members need to be at a mandatory meeting Monday, November 30th in Room 111 (Mr. Sowards’ room) from 2 to 3 pm.

Attention JV and Varsity girls soccer players. Your end of the season banquet will be held Tuesday, November 24th at 6 pm.  Also, if you have not turned in your uniform please do so before this Friday.

There will be a GSA meeting today in Mrs. Davis’s room from 2:10 to 2:30.  Everyone is welcome.  If you have any questions, contact Skyler Tetreau.

There will be no chess club today.
