| Lakewood Elementary School |
The Lakewood Elementary School construction project is complete.
Improvements to the Lakewood Elementary School included a new 4-classroom wing, and the renovation and remodel of the original1958 portion of the main building which was converted to a new library, student computer lab, and staff work areas. The addition received structural improvements for earthquake resistance, insulation, new windows and carpet, a new roof surface, and a new heating/ventilation system. Primary colors are used throughout the building.
In addition, a new bus loop and staff parking area has been constructed, which accommodates 45 staff vehicles and 12 buses. The new bus loop separates the parent and visitor parking from the school buses, relieving congestion in front of the school. Also added to the site is a new covered play area, covered walkways between buildings, and landscaping. A concrete plaza and seating area has been installed next to the addition and covered play area. The covered play shed includes skylights and lighting. Additional playground equipment has also been installed.
The middle school received a new roof during the summer of 2005. In addition, improvements were made in the gym, including new acoustics and ceiling paint.
| English Crossing Elementary |
A new covered play-shed was constructed at English Crossing Elementary. The new structure is attached to the multi-purpose room. Construction was completed before the start of school, 2005-2006.
Minor remodeling and the addition of modular classrooms were completed at the high school. The work reconditioned a number of spaces to accommodate the current educational program, and three modular classrooms were installed to provide additional space. Additional work is being planned throughout the school year.
