Meet Coach Rooney!
Coach Monica Rooney is the head volleyball coach here at Lakewood High school. She's been teaching and coaching here at Lakewood for eight years now.
Rooney went to Marysville Pilchuck High School and played volleyball, track, and basketball. From there she attended Skagit Valley College, then University of Bristol in England. She got her B.A. at University of Washington, and her Teacher's Certificate at Central Washington University.
Coach Rooney is a very active person, as her favorite things to do are hiking, backpacking, camping, traveling, boating, and of course, coaching volleyball. If you’re like that, too, you might want to check out the Everett Mountaineers site.
