Career Center |
||
The CAREER CENTER is a place to help students on a daily basis explore the opportunities available to them after high school. Students can research college and technical school options and career choices. Using the WOIS program ( Washington Occupational Information System) students can utilize an inventory assessment program to help them narrow down and define the career areas they might enjoy. Field trips about career and training options are planned throughout the year. Students are invited to attend presentations by college representatives in the fall. Information about standardized testing, financial aid, scholarships and community service opportunities are also available. Please click on the Career Center links and access detailed information. The Career Center is open Monday through Thursday 7:15am-2:15pm and Friday 7:30am-12:00pm. Appointments are also available by calling Mrs. Sather at 360-652-4506 ext. 2015 or asather@lwsd.wednet.edu. Please feel free to stop by anytime! |

Financial Aid |
Standardized Tests |
All students, regardless of family income, should apply for financial aid. Financial Aid is available through both state and federal funding. To be eligible for financial aid, students must have a financial need and receive a high school diploma or GED. Students also need to be a U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen, registered with the Selective Service if required and complete all the necessary forms. For financial aid to continue once awarded, students must make satisfactory academic progress. Financial aid eligibility is the difference between the cost of education and the Expected Family Contribution (EFC). You must complete and submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to apply for federal student aid and to apply for most state and college aid. Applying online at www.fafsa.ed.gov is the fastest and easiest way. You should submit your FAFSA as soon as possible after January 1st of the New Year. Once you are enrolled in school, the financial aid office at the individual institution makes the decision for the amount of financial assistance. Both state and private colleges have financial aid funds that they control. |
