Classroom Guidance Programs

Brief explanations of Lakewood Elementary School guidance activities and internet links to the programs we use.

 

I Can Problem Solve is an interpersonal problem solving program.

It includes language concepts, emotional education and encourages children to think of many solutions to a single problem.

Two resources are available for home at most retail book stores: Raising A Thinking Child, Thinking Parent, Thinking Child, and Raising The Thinking Child Workbook.

Second Step is a social skill, violence prevention program designed to improve student skills and school climate.

Monthly Themes were developed by the Lakewood Elementary School discipline committee. The goals are to support the Cougar Cub Compass which has four directions: Respect, Responsibility, Follow Directions and Do Quality Work.
