Athletic
Program
LMS feels strongly that academics come first. Therefore, students must not have any failing grades. Students are expected to maintain a 2.0 GPA. Grade checks are done every 2 weeks of each sports season. If a student has a failing grade, they are placed on a two week probation to raise their grade. During that time, students may participate in practices, but they may not participate in actual games. If a student is absent from school, he/she will not be able to participate in practice or games scheduled that day.
In order for an athlete to participate in athletics, all paperwork must be completed prior to the first practice. Athletic registration packets are available in the office or in the links below under the sports schedule table. The athletic packet includes parent permission, emergency card, physical paperwork, and insurance information. This packet must be turned in to the athletic director. Athletes are also required to purchase an ASB card which are available for purchase in the office.
You must have at least 10 practices in before you can participate in a sporting event. Make sure all of your paperwork is completed and turned in before you turn out for practice.
Specific information
pertaining to participation in the district athletic programs
is provided in the co-curricular code. This code is distributed
to students at the beginning of each season.
Interscholastic sports for 7th and 8th graders are: Girls
volleyball, boys, cross country, soccer, basketball,
boys wrestling, and track.

Your second semester middle school grades must follow and meet WIAA rules in order for you to participate in fall sports at the high school. If you have one or two "F's", you will be placed on probation for two weeks.
