If there is anything that I've learned during my time at Cougar Creek, it is that there's a lot to be appreciative of. We have one of the best learning communities that I have ever known. Our teachers are top notch, putting in long, extra hours on evenings and weekends to make sure that their students receive the best possible learning experiences. Luckily for our teachers too, we have a wonderful cadre of volunteers to help them with this important work. From our WatchD.O.G. dads, to our daily dedicated regular helpers, Cougar Creek benefits from all the assistance our family community gives back to the school. In honor of all this great work, I am happy to announce two opportunities for these people to be recognized.
May 1-5 is National Teacher Appreciation week. If you or your child feel inspired, now is a great time to let your child's teacher know how much they are appreciated. Our wonderful PTA will be making it an extra special week for our teachers, but personal gestures of gratitude also go a long way towards brightening a hard-working teacher's day.
Also, on May 24 at 2:00 pm we will be hosting our 3rd annual Leadership Day and Volunteer Appreciation event. If you have ever volunteered at our school, you are invited to join us for this special assembly where among other things, we will honor the great and important contribution of our volunteers.
Happy spring everyone, and join me in giving thanks!
