About Mr. Duzan |

| This is my eighth year teaching at Lakewood
Elementary School. I am certified to teach Special Education K-12,
Elementary Education K-8, Earth Science 4-12, and have a Masters Degree in
Special Education. I enjoy working with young students and helping them
learn how to read, write, and do math.
Before teaching, I worked for about 15 years in the logging industry. When funds for retraining loggers became available, I was able to fulfill a lifelong dream of becoming a teacher. Before logging, I was in the military. I joined the Air Force at the age of 18 and was a veteran at the age of 22. Before serving in the military, I myself was raised in a military family. Our family moved to a new Navy base every couple of years. Through this experience, I learned to appreciate diversity. For the past eight years, I have enjoyed organizing the Celebrating Differences Program at Lakewood Elementary School. Through this activity I have met many generous members of the community who have donated their time and talents year after year. |
