Scholarships are a great way to help with the cost of higher education. There can be a lot of work doing research and applying for scholarships! Make sure you meet the specific criteria and follow directions exactly. Most scholarships require you to submit a detailed application and often write an essay on a selected topic. You may also be required to submit letters of recommendation from a teacher or community member. We suggest you use this personal data form to assist in asking for letters of recommendation. LHS staff will not write a letter of recommendation without the data on this form to write a great letter!
To increase your chances of being awarded a scholarship, the best thing you can do as an underclassman is to build your resume with activities, sports, leadership roles in school, church or your community, summer or part-time work, community service, and continually challenging yourself with a strong academic course load.
