How to Run for Office

Have you considered running for school board director? Offices up for election in 2025 include Lakewood School District Director positions 1, 2 and 3. See if you live in one of these districts on our director boundary map. Directors are elected for four-year terms.

Online candidate filing begins May 5 at 8 a.m. and ends May 9 at 5 p.m. See the 2025 Candidate Guide for more information. Snohomish County Elections also has more information on its Run for Office page.

One popular advanced science class available to Lakewood juniors and seniors is the Advanced Biology/Forensics class taught by Mike Fellows. As part of the College in the High School program in partnership with Everett Community College (EvCC), students can earn college credit—tuition-free—while still in high school.

This is just one of many College in the High School courses offered at Lakewood High School. Other classes are English 101, English 111, Pre-Calculus, Calculus, Spanish III, Spanish IV, Honors U.S. History, Honors Government, Chemistry, Physics, Advanced Biology/Forensics, and Ocean/Marine Biology.

On March 22, our new FFA Meats Judging team competed in their first contest in Moses Lake. They took 7th place out of 20 teams.

The FFA and the LHS Agriculture Program have also been preparing their annual spring plant sale on May 2-3. Students will be selling hanging basket, planters, flowers and veggie starts at the LHS Greenhouse on Friday, May 2 (1-4 p.m.) and Saturday, May 3 (8 a.m. - 2 p.m.).
