Capital Facilities Plan 2024-2029
Lakewood School District's Capital Facilities Plan guides future school facility needs from 2024 through 2029. This plan is provided to Snohomish County and the cities of Arlington and Marysville in accordance with the Growth Management Act and local ordinances.
The plan outlines how the District will accommodate projected student enrollment growth and identifies the capital improvements required to support that growth. It includes:
- Enrollment forecasts for elementary, middle, and high school grade spans
- An inventory of existing school facilities, including their locations and capacities
- A projection of future facility needs, such as new schools or expanded sites
- Proposed capacities for new or expanded buildings
- A six‑year financing strategy, detailing funding sources and distinguishing between capacity‑adding projects and non‑capacity projects
The Capital Facilities Plan serves as a roadmap for planning, funding, and development of school facilities.
2023 Long Range Capital Facilities Master Plan
The 2023 Long Range Capital Facilities Master Plan represents extensive work by the Citizens’ Facilities Advisory Committee (CFAC), convened by Lakewood School District to evaluate current facility conditions and plan for the future. With significant residential growth on the horizon and many school buildings aging or in need of modernization, CFAC was tasked with developing recommendations to guide long‑term capital planning.
This report reflects the Committee’s collective work and serves as a roadmap for the Lakewood School Board. The CFAC’s findings and recommendations will help the Board make informed decisions about future facility needs, prioritize capital improvements, and plan responsibly for future investments.
