Enrollment and Registration

Lakewood School District serves about 2,600 students in three elementary schools, one middle school and one high school. Our students live in unincorporated Snohomish County and parts of Marysville and Arlington.

Multilingual families

Need help in another language? Our website can be translated using the Translate button at the top-left of the screen. All of our buildings now have two-way electronic language tablets in the main office to help you in your own language for short in-person conversations. We can also arrange to call you back with an over-the-phone interpreter if you let us know your phone number and what language you need. We can usually call you back within a few minutes.

Please select the correct year when you go to enroll your new student. This will save you and our staff the extra work of having to complete these forms again.

If you have recently moved to the area and you want to enroll for this school year, select the "2025-2026 New Student Enrollment."
Families of students who will be in kindergarten in fall 2026 should select "2026-27 New Student Enrollment."

Kindergarten Registration

Will your child be 5 by Aug. 31? Kindergarten registration for the 2026-27 school year is now available. See the information on this page so you know what documents you will need.

Save the dates for the following:

Family Connections: September 2-4, 2026 (In late August, schools will contact kindergarten families to schedule a time for students and their families to meet with their kindergarten teachers.)
First Day of Kindergarten: September 8, 2026 (Please note this is a different first day than for grades 1-12).

Online Enrollment Now Available!

Families can now enroll new students online. You may save your progress as you go. You don't need to complete the entire application at one time.

After the application is complete and submitted, your school will be able to approve your application.

To translate the online forms, use your phone or web browser's Translation feature (usually you can access this by right clicking on your screen). Translated paper forms in Spanish and Russian are available upon request from your school or the District Office. You can also contact us to arrange for a language interpreter.

New and Returning Families: Create an Enrollment User Account
Current Families: Log in to your Family Access Account and select New Student Enrollment from the dropdown for the New Student Enrollment Tile to appear. (See image below.)

Preschool Registration

Preschool registration is only for students who are accepted to one of our early learning programs. Learn more on our website.

Items required for registration

Proof of current address

Proof of child’s age

Parents/guardians must provide one (1) of the following documents for each student enrolling:

Valid passport (not expired)
Official birth certificate (or a copy of official birth certificate)
Other official proof of age document (medical coupons, hospital forms, medical information)

Kindergarten students: To start kindergarten, a child must be 5 years old by August 31 of that school year. (Note: Please contact the district office if you need information about early entrance to kindergarten.)

Proof of Immunization

Your child's most current immunization records or certificate of exemption. Learn more about immunization requirements.

All records must be medically verified in order to enroll your student. Acceptable medical records include:

A Certificate of Immunization Status (CIS) form printed with the vaccination dates from the Washington State Immunization Information System (IIS), MyIR Mobile, or another state’s IIS.
A completed hardcopy CIS with a health care provider validation signature.
A completed hardcopy CIS with attached vaccination records printed from a health care provider’s electronic health record with a health care provider signature or stamp. The school administrator, nurse, or designee must verify the dates on the CIS have been accurately transcribed and provide a signature on the form.

Where will my student attend school?

Students attend school based on where they live. See our boundary map to determine your elementary student's assigned school. All secondary-age students attend Lakewood Middle School (6-8) and Lakewood High School (9-12).

If a student wishes to attend a school that does not serve the area of his/her residence, parents must request a variance. Learn more about Variances and Choice Transfers.
