Dear Lakewood Middle School Families,

Welcome to the 2016-2017 school year at LMS. I trust everyone has had a wonderful summer break with lots of rest and opportunities to enjoy numerous activities with friends and family. The staff and I are looking forward to an exciting, productive and successful school year.

Last year was a great success for LMS.  Our staff set high expectations and developed a clear plan for teaching and learning and students responded with a strong performance on the state assessments (SBA and MSP).  We continue to desire additional performance gains this year and will resume our focus on improving your student’s academic skills in reading, writing, mathematics, science and social studies.

As educators, we look forward to educating your children, and appreciate that you are entrusting them in our care. This is a privilege we accept with great responsibility and continue to work towards supporting your goals for your student’s performance and growing achievement.

Our main goal is to ensure that every student is provided the highest quality of education possible in a safe and supportive learning environment and every student finds academic success.  Working together as a team with our staff and parents, we am committed to helping each student.  Every student is valued and worthy of our best effort.

To our students, I ask that you reflect on your goals and strive to do your best every day. Know that administration and staff are here to support and encourage you as you explore different opportunities and grow as learners.  You will be expected to give 100% academically and behaviorally.

To our parents, I ask that you continue to expect the best education for your children.  Let us know what we can do to help your student achieve and meet with academic success.  Parent involvement is vital to your child's success, and we ask that you continue to play an active role in their education.

I am honored to lead such an outstanding school community and eagerly anticipate a rewarding and successful year. It is my responsibility to provide our students with academic skill growth while also keeping them engaged, challenged and supported.

Please do not hesitate to contact me with questions, concerns, or input at any time.

Best regards,

Bryan Toutant
