    Pottery students bring elementary drawings to clay

    If you can dream it, these advanced pottery students can make it! Second graders at Lakewood Elementary let their imaginations run wild, designing fantastical creatures. LHS students brought these 2D drawings to life as 3D clay sculptures, and the LES students had the joy of painting them alongside their high school buddies.

    On Friday, June 7, Superintendent Dr. Erin Murphy spoke of the deep bond and commitment shared by the Class of 2024. “Never forget the importance of showing up for one another,” she told the students as she commended them for their collective force for good that they bring into the world.     LHS teacher is Claes Nobel Educator of Distinction

    Lakewood High School science teacher Mike Fellows was awarded the Claes Nobel Educator of Distinction by the National Society of High School Scholars. The honor is presented to teachers based on their dedication to teaching and learning and the difference that they are making as a role model, source of inspiration, and leadership in their profession. Fellows was nominated for this honor by senior Kaitlyn Grant, who is a member of the National Society of High School Scholars.

    Congratulations to these Lakewood High School seniors, who were recognized during Senior Awards Night on June 4. Students were awarded a total of $54,975 in scholarships.

    Free summer meals for kids

    Join us for free summer meals! From June 24-July 31, free breakfast and lunch will be available in the cafeteria at Lakewood High School, Monday through Thursday. No meals will be served on July 4. Breakfast will be available from 8 to 9:30 a.m. Lunch will be available 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
