    Heart of Lakewood recognizes community contributions during meeting

    At its June 21 meeting, the Lakewood Board of Directors presented three Heart of Lakewood awards. The award recognizes outstanding community service contributions made by a student, staff member or community member: Jeff Sowards; Dale and Laurel Leach; Peter Nigro.   • School Board members

    Board recognizes outgoing student advisor

    During its June 21 meeting, the Lakewood Board of Directors recognized Student Advisor Carsten Brost and Superintendent Scott Peacock and thanked them for their service to the Lakewood School District. Brost recently graduated from Lakewood High School and will be attending college in the fall. Peacock is stepping down after four years as superintendent. The board also recognized incoming LHS Student Advisor Saya Barber, who will begin her term during the 2023-24 school year.

    Two athletes earn Northwest Conference honors

    Juniors Ethan Ralston and Landon Davidson placed in the top-3 this season to earn Track and Field Northwest Conference All-League honors. Ethan earned honors in the shot put with a 52’ 7” throw. Landon earned honors in the 300m hurdles with a time of 40.45 seconds.

    The Stanwood-Camano branch of AAUW (American Association of University Women) recently honored junior year high school girls from Stanwood, Lakewood and Arlington high schools for their exceptional academic abilities in STEM coursework (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math). Read more.

    The Marysville Masonic Crystal Lodge recognized 10 juniors each from Lakewood High School, Marysville Pilchuk High School and Marysville Getchell High School for academic achievement during a presentation on April 18.
