Congratulations ECE! The district recently received notification from the state that English Crossing Elementary School (ECE) earned the Washington Achievement Award for the 2016 academic school year.
Washington Achievement Award winners are selected using the Washington State Achievement Index and are based on statewide assessment data for the three previous years. The Achievement Index measures school performance, emphasizing improvement and recognition. Schools must have at least 95 percent participation on state tests to qualify for recognition. The award is given in seven categories: Overall Excellence, High Progress, English Language Arts Growth, math Growth, Extended Graduation Rate, English Language Acquisition, and Achievement Gap. ECE received this award in three of the seven categories: Overall Excellence, English Language Arts Growth, and Math Growth.
Once again, congratulations to Principal Bill Landry and his staff for their hard work in helping students find academic success. This is the fourth year in a row that ECE has been recognized as a Washington Achievement Award recipient.
