Congratulations to the Lakewood High School Class of 2024!

Lakewood High School is recognizing Kamran Alavi Zargar as valedictorian and Claere Cody and Julissa Vazquez-Mejia as co-salutatorians in 2024.

Kamran Alavi Zargar, Valedictorian

Kamran Alavi Zargar earned a 4.0 grade point average while attending Lakewood High School and is the LHS Class of 2024 Valedictorian. He is the son of Ahmad and Alliza Alavi Zargar. Kamran is an LHS Cougar Crew lead mentor and has been involved in Leadership throughout his high school career. He has taken college-level coursework and maintained the top position on Honor Roll. Kamran is also a four-year basketball player and played football his senior year. He will attend the University of Washington Seattle in the fall and plans to study aerospace engineering.

Claere Cody, Co-Salutatorian

Claere Cody, daughter of Harley and Amy Cody, is one of the Class of 2024 Salutatorians. Claere earned a 3.99 grade point average at Lakewood High School. Throughout her four high school years, Claere was active in drama, jazz choir, and pep band, as well as Knowledge Bowl and National Honor Society. She also played tennis her senior year. Claere will be continuing her education at Columbia College Chicago where she will major in comedy writing and performance.

Julissa Vazquez-Mejia, Co-Salutatorian

Julissa Vazquez-Mejia earned a 3.99 grade point average and is one of the Class of 2024 Salutatorians. She is the daughter of Julio and Josefina Vazquez. Julissa is a four-year member of LHS Drama Club and currently active in Drama Club leadership, a Cougar Crew member, and a member of National Honor Society. She will be attending Seattle University with the prestigious Seattle U Bound Merit Scholarship and will study nursing.
