Celebrating School Library Month

After reading Miss Rumphius, a story about a woman who wants to make the world a more beautiful place by planting lupines, Librarian Jamie Cooper asked Lakewood Elementary School third graders what they would do to make the world a more beautiful place.

After a discussion, students had an opportunity to draw their ideas and to check out and read new library books.

April is School Library Month. School libraries help foster a love of reading and learning as students connect to their interests through books.
