Sisters lead LHS Girls Golf to become NW Champions
Kiana Schroeder and her sister Malia Schroeder led the Lakewood girls golf team to become 2022 Northwest Conference Champions! The Lakewood Cougars won their sixth conference match of the season with a score of 486.
Individually, sophomore Kiana Schroeder is the 2022 Northwest Conference MVP. Senior Malia Schroeder finished just four strokes behind Kiana to take third in the league standings (First Team All-Conference). Malia was the 2019 Northwest Conference MVP. There were no post-season or All-Conference awards in 2020 and 2021.
Senior Mandy Harrison made the Northwest Conference Second Team finishing in a tie for 12th in the league. There were a total of 94 varsity golfers from 15 1A, 2A, and 3A schools in the Northwest Conference.
First year players junior Audrey Jordan and freshman Haley Callan finished the season 20th and 21st respectively, while freshman Cassidy Wolfe finished 43rd.
All six players will compete in the District One 2A Tournament May 17-18 at Snohomish Golf Course, for a chance to win one of the 12 spots to the State Tournament at the end of May.
