Awards recognize community leaders
The Washington Association of School Administrators recognized LINC NW with a Community Leadership Award on May 26. Ryan Brown, executive director, and his team have worked in close partnership with the Lakewood School District to support students. Their programs include HOPE Mentoring, the United Lakewood Coalition, and a community clothing closet. LHS teacher Stacy Lischke, a teacher and FFA adviser at Lakewood High School, received an award for Leadership in Student Achievement. She has worked to design an Agriculture career pathway grounded in STEM. In addition, she has built a strong FFA program that fosters student belonging. For example, the FFA has created hands-on experiences for ELL students and the elementary summer school program.
Superintendent Scott Peacock presented Lakewood’s WASA nominees with their awards. He was also recognized for 20 years of service as a WASA member.
