But when Reptile Man (aka Scott Petersen) brought out the python and the alligator, shrieks and laughter rang through the English Crossing Elementary gym before students were assured there was no danger from the animals he was holding.

Students learned about the ecosystem and the important role that reptiles play in that ecosystem during the school assembly in February. One example: Snakes save our crops by eating mice and other pests around homes and fields.

The Reptile Man assembly was a schoolwide celebration for filling the school train with golden tickets. Students earn tickets by following the Big 3: Treat Others Right, Make Smart Decisions, and Maximize Your Potential.
